COVID-19 had had a disproportionate effect on ethnic minorities with significantly high death rate as compared to other ethnicities. More than 94% of the doctors who sadly lost their lives due to COVID-19 infection were from ethnic minorities. Private Eye Surgery (UK-East) consultant Mr S A Aftab did a survey of NHS ethnic minority doctors and asked them about availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and if they are satisfied by the steps taken by their employing organisations to protect them. The survey showed very worrying findings.
